1. Peplum tops and a lehenga:
If it is a nippy clime out there and you are the bride or bridesmaid, we want you to stay chic and comfortable, warm too. What you could do to bring about an Indo-Western fusion to the wedding wear is to pair up long sleeved peplum tops so pretty and graceful with layered lehenga skirts. There are two options here that you could think of- neutrals or with color matches. All in all, it would be a monochromatic look that would work like magic, whites on whites, off-whites on off-whites or creams on creams, but should you want color to indulge in, look at dark reds with soft pinks, maroons with yellows, greens with light blues, orange with reds and more.
2. Mid length flared Anarkalis with dress pants:
The Anarkali is a popular ensemble worn by PYTs at most weddings, and to make the look a little trendier than the usual, you could pair up mid length and cut Anarkalis with dress pants, ciggy pants, skinnies for the legs, regular jeans, dhoti pants et al! if the climes out there are nippy, you could wear thermal inner wear to keep warm and toasty.
3. Pant sarees:
Sexy, sensual, chic and luxe with touches of traditional hues and modernity too, the pant sari is a trend that seems to stay this year for brides and PYTs alike. Call it fashion forward or whatever, you could be the most dazzling bridesmaid draping a netted and heavily embellished saree around a chic choli and zardozi or chikan embroidered pants.
4. Desi Jumpsuits:
You’ve heard of jumpsuits for street style, now let’s give it a desi touch and bring it to the weddings and special events too. Be happy that jumpsuits are western ensembles anymore, not when our designers are creating chic and luxe touches with them to make jumpsuits a staple for the D-Days of many.
