A beautiful and elegant tutorial on how to apply makeup for Eid 2014
Eid al-Adha is one of the two most important celebrations in the Muslim calender. It is a holiday at the end of Hajj, the annual Muslim pilgrimage to Mecca, which is one of the greatest religious observance in Islam. People go to the mosque for prayers in their new clothes to thank Allah for the blessings they have received, and exchange the greeting “Eid Mubarak” meaning “blessed Eid”. Here is a wearable makeup look to celebrate the festival of Eid.
Step 1: I began the Eid makeup by applying MAC Studio Fix Fluid foundation in NC37 all over the face with a Real Techniques Buffing brush. I spread the foundation in circular motions to help spread evenly.
Step 2: My skin was feeling extremely dry today hence I dint use any powder anywhere on the face. So I moved on to contour my chubby cheeks with Benefit’s Hoola. I used the Real Techniques Setting brush to blend out any lines.
Step 3: Next up, the blush. MAC Mineralize blush in Sun & Moon was used with the help of the same Real Techniques buffing brush all over the apples of the cheeks extended until the temples of either side of the forehead in a ‘C’ shape to look more natural.
Step 4: Bobbi Brown’s Pink Quartz quad was used as a highlighter on the high planes of the face to add that extra shimmer only where it’s required.
Step 5: It’s time to move on to the eyes now. I used MAC Smolder to line the waterline with kajal.
Step 6: To add some zing to the look, I used MAC Stars & Rockets just below the waterline with a Sigma E30 pencil brush.
Step 7: As an eye primer I used the B&D primer and spread it on the entire eyelid with the Sigma F70 brush. For the eye shadow I applied Chanel Impulsion cream shadow with the same brush.
Step 8: To add accentuate the crease line further, I used MAC Cork on the fold of the eyelid with a MAC #217 blending brush.
Step 9: I wanted the liner to be slightly smudged and smokey. So instead of using a gel liner, I applied the MAC Smolder pencil and smudged it with an angled brush. I created a slight wing at the outer corner of both the eyes.
Step 10: The eye makeup is almost done now! The second last step is to curl lashes (Inglot lash curler) and add mascara (Maybelline The Falsies). I did not over do the mascara as I was going to apply false lashes.
Step 11: I stuck on MAC #7 lashes with the help of Duo Adhesive. I feel these lashes are best for a bride-to-be as they don’t look very simple nor do they look overly dramatic.
Step 12: Finally to coat my lips I used the lipstick Mehr by MAC. I love how the lipstick turned out to be the exact same shade of the dress! I chose to leave the lips matte but if you find it too dry, feel free to dab some gloss on the lips.
And this is the final look —
