Here are a few wonderful tips on how to fine-tune your skin care routine with every age. So, check out these beauty tips for a healthy and glowing skin.
If you desire to have glowing and healthy skin at every age, then it is essential for you to rethink your skin care routine that you may be following since years. As you age your skin undergoes a variety of changes. It becomes thin, comparatively dry and is no longer plump and smooth as it was a decade ago. To your surprise these changes begin to appear as soon as in late 20’s and some of you may also notice sun spots and wrinkles. Besides age, stress and sun exposure also plays a vital role.
Change your decade old beauty routine and chuck those oil free cleansers and moisturizers that you used during teenage years. Replacing some products will go a long way in protecting your skin and your skin will feel better.
1. Skin Care Routine for 20’s: During these youthful years, the key is to keep your skin in the best possible shape by protecting it. Stress, alcohol, sun exposure and carefree dietary habits can play havoc on your glowing skin. If left neglected, your skin can begin to show fine lines in late 20’s. Your beauty regimen should include a gentle cleanser (non-drying with salicylic acid), light moisturizer with good SPF (at least SPF 30), night serum with high antioxidants and Vitamin C (protection from free radicals and pollution). During night, you can also include hydrating eye creams (to tackle late nights).

2. Skin Care Routine for 30’s: Skin problems during your 30’s include appearance of fine lines and pigmentation caused by sun damage or melasma (caused by pregnancy or birth control pills). Also, cell turnover rate becomes considerably slow from 14-20 days to 35-40 days. Therefore, lay your focus more on exfoliation to maintain healthy skin. Your beauty regimen should include a cleanser with light exfoliation properties, hydrating eye cream (day with SPF and night), moisturizer rich in antioxidants and with at least SPF 30, night cream with retinoid (by prescription only).
3. Skin Care Routine for 40’s: During your 40’s, skin will be drier due to declining level of estrogen and the neck area will not be as firm as before. Therefore, the focus of the beauty regimen should be to add extra hydration and peptides (collagen-building ingredients) to the skin. Your beauty regimen should include a gentle cleanser (soap free and non-drying), moisturizer rich in antioxidants and with at least SPF 30, night serum with peptides and retinol (by prescription only; and to build collagen and improve skin texture), moisture rich night cream (glycerin based).
4. Skin Care Routine for 50’s: Women in 50’s should wholly focus on keeping their skin well hydrated at all times. Key skin concerns include sagging, uneven skin tone and hollow eyes. Therefore, include skin rejuvenating products that contain peptides, retinoid, or alpha hydroxyl or amino acids after consulting with your dermatologist. Your beauty regimen should include a gentle cleanser with hydrating properties, moisturizing cream with at least SPF 30, serum rich in antioxidants and peptide and moisture rich night cream (glycerin based).
