Ombre lips are the biggest trend on the internet right now. You will find every model on the runway, and every makeup artist on Pinterest showcasing the new look. And while it may look quite hard to do, it really is one of the simplest makeup tricks around. If you want to spice up your look and impress your hubby this Karwa Chauth, then you should definitely try out the ombre lips look with your beautiful outfit. Not sure if you can manage? Well what are we here for? As always, we have a simplified tutorial to help you do the ombre lip yourself. Just grab your favorite lipstick shades and get ready to flaunt the sexy new style.
Start by exfoliating your lips to remove any dead skin and wrinkles. You can prepare your own lip scrub at home by mixing sugar, olive oil and lemon juice and rubbing it all over the mouth. Then use a toothbrush and lightly move it over your lips in circular motions. Wash off the lip scrub and your lips will feel noticeably softer and smoother.
Next, it is important to moisturize your lips so that they don’t look dry and flaky. You can use your favorite lip balm, but make sure it is not tinted and doesn’t leave color on your lips. You can also just use a little bit of petroleum jelly; this is one of the best and cheapest lip moisturizing options.
Now to start off with the makeup, apply a little bit of loose powder on your lips and around the mouth to cover up any redness or pigmentation that may be visible. Use a wide kabuki brush and gently press the powder all over the region.
Now take the lip liner that is in the darker shade and carefully line your lips to define them properly. Blend in the color on your lips inwards so that it creates a shaded gradient effect. Press your lips together and keep shading them till the color gradually lightens inwards.
Next, use a lighter matte shade lipstick or lip cream and apply it at the center of the lip where there is no lip liner. Press your lips together and lightly blend the darker and lighter shades at the center of the lip using a blending brush or your ring finger.
Once again, apply the lip liner in case you need to correct any areas or smudging that has occurred during application. You can even add a little darker color to the center of the lower lip to add more definition to the look.
Lastly, finish off by applying concealer around the lips using an angled brush to ensure that the lips look clean and the skin around it looks even.
