With the festive season, comes the time to experiment with new styles and trends. You can look like the belle of the ball this season with some fashionable new hairstyles. We collected some of the best looks that seem to be at the top of fashion charts this year so you can have a wide variety to choose from. Take a look at some of the best hairstyles to try out this year.
1. Buns: Buns – messy, sleek, low or high, are an amazing style to try. If you want to look chic and sophisticated you can try a smooth low bun to wear with a saree or your Anarkali salwar kameez. If you want something that is more fun and quirky, opt for a messy low bun with a few loose strands teamed up with your lehenga. You can also accessorize the bun with flowers, hair pins or chains to add a little extra oomph to the style. Buns are also a fantastic style to wear if you haven’t had the time to wash your hair. Messy buns require a little bit of texture, so unwashed hair is perfect for this style.
2. Ponytails: Ponytails too can be worn in a variety of styles. From slicked back hair to voluminous textured long ponytails, there is a lot to experiment with here. If you have long hair you can even try to wear a ponytail merged with a braid tied with a section of your hair. A popular trick is to wrap one section of your hair around the hair tie to cover it up and make it look more polished and professional.
3. Braid: There are so many types of braids that you can try a different one for every day of the week. From fishtail braids, to Dutch braids, waterfall braids to a French braid, the options are practically endless. These braid styles look beautiful when worn with lehengas and Patiala kurtas. Remember to backcomb your hair a little to add some volume and texture. You can even tease your braid a little to create a beautifully textured effect.
4. Half knot updo: Half knots involve pulling up two sections of your hair from either end above the ear and tying them back together at the back of the head. The rest of the hair is left loose and can be curled, straightened or left wavy. This is a very elegant and sophisticated style and can be worn with all outfits for various occasions. It looks good with both Indian and western outfits. Half knot updos can be a combination of loose hair tied up with buns, braids or even ponytails and is a very versatile style. You can also try to embellish the style with hair accessories for different occasions.
So go on and give your hair a new style to flaunt this festive season.
