Now doing spa treatment at home can be really easy. Just follow any of these 4 methods!
Who doesn’t like the indulgence, pampering and tranquility that comes with a spa treatment. But with our busy lives, most of us are strapped for time. And knowing how exorbitant these professional spas are, visiting a spa can be quite taxing on the pocket. So, what if we could get the same experience at our home itself? Now that sounds really exciting. So Zuri brings to you 4 DIY spa treatments that can be done at home.1. Milk body soak: Legend has it that the secret to Cleopatra’s eternal beauty was that she use to bathe in donkey’s milk. Now donkey’s milk sounds too fancy for today’s time and age. So use your regular whole milk for this simple DIY spa at home. Fill up your bath tub with warm water and add 4 cups of milk, some honey, 20-25 drops of your favorite essential oil and lastly a few rose petals for a more exotic feel and get ready to soak yourself in this relaxing, exhilarating spa. Milk being loaded with lactic acid gently removes the dead skin cells and honey and the essential oil with its soothing fragrance, calms your senses. But do make sure you take a quick shower after the soak.
2. Apple pie spa for skin polishing: Did you know that along with numerous nutritional benefits, apples are also good for your skin. In fact, being rich in Malic Acid, apples make for an excellent exfoliation agent, removing dead skin cells and surface dirt. So mix together 1 tbsp fresh apple purée, 2 tbsp each of brown sugar and granulated sugar and 1/8 of a tsp cinnamon to make a scrub. Now massage this scrub in circular motion on your body while in the shower with a loofah for about 5 minutes and rinse off with water followed by a moisturizing body lotion to get fresh, rejuvenated, supple skin.
3. Aroma therapy shower: For those of you who do not have the luxury of a bathing tub, we have the aroma therapy shower to soothe and relax your body and mind. All you need to do is sprinkle a few drops of your favorite essential oil on a wash cloth and leave it on one side of your shower cubicle. Now run some hot water, so much so that the shower cubicle is full of steam. Let the scent of the essential oil disperse into the steam. And now it’s time for you to step in, indulge in the blissful aroma, relax and unwind.
4. Hair spa with banana mask: Now that we’re discussing spa treatments, can’t move ahead without doing a DIY hair spa. So begin with massaging your hair with some warm oil (coconut or olive oil) for 10-15 minutes. Now wrap up a steaming hot towel around your hair. This helps the oils to penetrate deeper into the scalp. Leave it on for about 15 minutes. Next up, rinse your crowning glory with a mild shampoo, followed by a nourishing hair mask. We recommend a banana mask which is really effective for even the most dull and damaged hair. So blend a ripe banana in a blender and add a tsp honey or lemon to it and mix them well. Apply evenly to your hair, especially the roots. Now again wrap up your hair in a steaming hot towel for another 15 minutes and then rinse off well with lukewarm water to get healthier, shinier hair.
So take your pick from the above DIY spas and soothe your mind, body and soul.
Quick tip: To make it feel as close to the real thing, go for scented candles, dim lighting and some light music and make the spa experience all the more exotic.
