Here are 5 magical home remedies to treat acne. Now say goodbye to pesky pimples!
Acne is one issue most of us have dealt with at some point of time in life. Some blame it to puberty, some to hormonal imbalance and some call it stress related. Whatever the reason be, no one likes the idea of a pimple popping out on a special day and in certain cases an even worse out break. So we’ve got some simple home remedies for an acne prone skin to prevent and treat acne and pimples.
1. Green tea: We all know of the health benefits of consuming green tea. But now use the same green tea to cure acne scars, pimples and redness. Drop a tea bag of green tea in a pot of boiling water and later apply this tea bag directly onto your skin over the area with acne, zits etc. Let it dry and rinse it off with cold water. Green tea being an excellent source of antioxidants helps fight free radicals and treats acne inflammation.
2. Aspirin: Now I bet you haven’t tried this before. Did you know that the commonly used OTC medicine aspirin can be used to treat acne as well? Aspirin being loaded with Salicylic Acid and with its anti-inflammatory properties makes for an outstanding mask to get rid of acne, pimples effectively. So take 5-7 uncoated aspirin tablets and dissolve it in a little water to make a paste with a smooth consistency. Now apply this paste directly to the affected area and let it sit for 10-15 minutes and rinse it off with water. For best results, use this remedy twice a week.
3. Tea tree oil: Another effective remedy to treat acne would be tea tree oil. With its anti bacterial, antiseptic and anti fungal properties, it cuts through the dust and grease and unclogs the pores treating and preventing further out break of pimples. But never use it directly onto your skin as it can cause an allergic reaction. Instead dilute 3-4 drops of tea tree oil in 1/2 a cup water and apply this mix on the problematic area with a cotton ball. Leave it on for about 20-30 minutes. Once it dries, apply a moisturizer on top of it. There is actually no need to rinse it off with water.4. Mint: This remedy is not only curative but also preventive. So mix together 2 tbsp each of finely chopped mint, yogurt and powdered oatmeal and apply this paste on your face and rinse after 10 minutes. Mint removes oil from deep within the pores, clears clogged pores and prevents any outbreak of pimples in the first place.
5. Aloe: Aloe Vera as we all know is a wonder plant and has numerous skin benefits, some of them being healing skin inflammation, fighting infection, treating acne and reducing acne scars and redness. So scrape some gel directly from an Aloe Vera leaf and apply it onto the acne. Rinse after 2-3 minutes with cold water. Use this remedy twice a day for best results.
