Take a look at some of the quickest homemade egg-based hair masks recipes that can bring shine back to your dull-winter hair
Your hair could be looking dull for a number of reasons. Dryness, frizz and sometimes even excess production of oil on the scalp could make your hair look limp and lifeless. Now while there are plenty of products available in stores to treat dullness of hair, not all of them actually do the work. And some of them even contain harmful chemicals that could further damage your hair and scalp. So instead of experimenting with synthetic products, it is always better to treat your hair with natural home remedies for the best results. Here are 3 easy homemade egg based hair masks to revive your dull hair and inject life and volume into it once again.
1. Homemade egg mask for dry hair:
Start by separating the egg yolk and the egg white. When treating dry hair, you only need to use the yolk part of the egg. The egg yolk is full of proteins that strengthen and revive hair, as well the fats which help to keep the hair moisturized. Put the egg yolks in a bowl and whisk them well together. Next, add three to four spoonfuls of olive oil depending on your hair length. If your hair is longer, you can add another egg yolk and olive oil if required. Dampen your hair a little bit and apply the mixture all over the scalp as well as along the length of your hair. Massage it into your scalp as you apply it and then comb your hair with a wide toothed comb to ensure that it spreads evenly. For those with dry and split ends, remember to apply some of the mask directly to the ends of the hair as well. Cover your hair with a shower cap and let the mask sit for 20 to 30 minutes. Wash it off with cool water and then shampoo and condition as usual. Remember not to use hot water; you don’t want the egg to cook!
2. For oily hair:
For this mask, we will only be using egg whites. So separate the egg once again and take the egg whites in a bowl. The egg white helps to remove excess oil from the scalp and control production of overactive oil glands as well. Add three to four spoonfuls of olive oil as required depending on the length of your hair and mix the ingredients well. Dampen your hair and apply this mixture all over the scalp and length. Use a wide toothed comb and also try massaging your scalp while applying the mask. Cover your hair with a shower cap and leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes before rinsing it off. Then shampoo and condition your hair as usual with cool water and then use a blow dryer to lightly dry off your hair to see it looking shiny and vibrant.
3. For unmanageable hair:
If no other conditioner seems to work well enough to control your hair, you may need to try this mask. For this mask, you will use a whole egg whisked together with olive oil. Additionally, you need to add honey, aloe vera gel and a few spoonfuls of milk and mix it well together. If you tend to have early graying, then you can also try adding a spoonful of ghee to the mixture. Whisk it well and apply it all over the hair and scalp. Let it sit for 20 minutes while your hair is covered and then rinse and wash as usual.
