This year was no different, and Aishwarya showed off many stunning looks. While the purple lip stood out the most, it was the icy blue eye makeup that stole the show at Cannes this year. In this tutorial, we are going to show you how to achieve this glamorous look using basic makeup products so you too can shine like a star.

1. Cleanse and moisturize:

It is important to make sure you have a clean canvas before beginning your work. Use a good quality cleanser to get rid of any dirt, pollution, sweat or makeup residue on your face. If you have oily skin, opt for a foaming face wash that will help clean out the pores and your skin thoroughly. Next, opt for a hydrating moisturizer that will keep your skin feeling soft and nourished.

2. Prime the lids:

Now that your skin is well taken care of, it is time to start with the makeup. Start by applying eye shadow primer all over your eye lids. This will help ensure that the makeup lasts longer. As this look focuses on the eyes and there are plenty of eye makeup products used, this step is critical to ensure the product stays longer and doesn’t begin to crease on the skin. Use a good quality eye primer to ensure optimal results.

3. Add some shimmer:

Once your primer has blended in well, you will want to give your eyes some shimmer and sparkle. Use a shimmery eye shadow in a light shade such as pink or lavender, which won’t leave too much color but will still make your eyes pop. Apply this all over the lid using a flat eye shadow brush and blend it well.

4. Feel the blue:

Now comes the most important part – adding the blue! First off, start by using a blue eyeliner to create the shape. Line the upper lash line and draw a V-shape along the outer corner of the eye from the outer edge of the lash line extending outward and then coming back onto the crease. This will act as an outline for the makeup. Use a smudging brush and lightly smudge the lines so they don’t appear too dark. Then, using a blue eye shadow apply it on the liner, making the lines thicker inwards as you go. Use a blending brush and blend the blue inwards while ensuring that the shimmery color does not get completely overlapped.

5. Little bit of brown:

Once the blue eye shadow has been cleanly blended, you want to add some definition to your eyes. For this, opt for a dark brown eye shadow and apply it in the crease. You don’t need to blend it too much as this will really highlight the eyes.

6. Finishing touches:

For the finishing touches, all you need is some kohl to line the lower waterline, tons of mascara to make your eyelashes look fuller and longer and plenty of nude lipstick. The nude color will make your lips look plumper and nourished without taking away focus from the eyes.
