The lob, the bob or other scissored creations may be creating fashion waves, but this year saw designers and fashionistas the world over going gaga over Rapunzel-like length. The beauty industry has always been infatuated with long locks and we are giving you 24 solid reasons for it. Go through our mood board to draw inspiration for 24 awesome hairstyles for long hair to sport on this New Years. Take a look and let us know which one you love the most.
1. Sleek & Straight:
Long hair looks great when smoothed out and straightened. This also helps to elongate the face and neck giving you a chic and sophisticated appearance. You can straighten your hair and leave it open as it is, or pin it back on one side with a classy hair accessory. A polished side part with one side tucked behind your ear will also make you look confident.
2. Defined Curls:
Style your hair with large or small defined curls and add some oomph to your style with a trendy hair accessory to spruce up the entire look. To get bed head curls, simply curl the hair tightly, take some texturizing product and run the fingers through your hair to open up the curls a bit. Voila!
3. High Updos:
High styles – whether ponytails or updos are all the rage right now. And the best bit – it can be anything from sleek to messy and from wavy to curly. High updos (and ponytails) definitely add a few inches to your height and also have a slimming effect. All you need is some glossy pomade, a dollop of mousse and a handful of bobby pins to recreate a really high and sleek top knot. The best part is it will not budge through the entire night of partying. If you aren’t a fan of the fierce look, soften the height by backcombing only a section on the crown for volume and pinning it down.
Add a layer of bangs – either as fringes or a side-swept portion. This gives easy changeability if you want to keep your hair extremely straight or want to channel the inner mermaid in you. Keep the bangs longer if you are not too keen on a permanent or a longer-lasting fringe.
There is architecture in ponytails – you can braid them, pouf them or bubble them a la Aladdin’s Jasmine or even leave them as is. Textured ponytails are all the rage so experiment liberally.
