1. Green Tea Extract

  • Brew a cup of green tea & let it cool.
  • Dip a clean wash cloth or cotton ball in the tea.
  • Press gently on the affected areas for about 2 minutes each.

You can do it a few nights a week, or every night. Due to green tea’s gentleness, it can be utilized more often than other natural remedies.

2. Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera has great antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties & is an incredible healing agent. It also works great for healing your skin of acne and can help with any scars. Another added benefit is that it is very safe & can be left on overnight in order to detoxify your skin! You can easily buy your own aloe vera plant from a local store and use the aloe straight from the plant.

3. Baking Soda

Baking soda has antibacterial, anti-inflammation (reduces redness and swelling), and anti-fungal properties. It also helps in absorbing excessive oil, as well as unclog the skins pores. Mix all ingredients well into a small bowl. Gently put some of the mixture onto your fingertips & massage all over your face. Let sit for at least 20 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

5. Turmeric (Haldi)

Turmeric is an amazing superfood & does wonders for your face. It contains antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties which provides glow and luminousness. 

Turmeric Face Mask:

  • 2 tablespoons of turmeric powder
  • ¼ cup of water

Mix ingredients together until they have a paste-like consistency. Apply gently to your face. Leave on for about five minutes before washing with warm water.

6. Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil is a great alternative to the harsh chemicals that are found in many over the counter acne medications. However, keep in mind that it can still dry out your skin out, so be sure to use it only a few days a week, and even then, only apply it to your face once or twice a day. A good recipe to try is to blend 10 drops of tea tree oil with 20+ drops of witch hazel oil, due to the positive effects both can have. Remember, it can irritate your skin, so caution is advised when using it.
